This study evaluates an electrolytically generated ferrate reagent, produced by the SafeGuard™ H2O system, as an alternative oxidant, disinfectant, and coagulant for treating algae-impacted seawater and reducing membrane biofouling at desalination facilities. Its performance is compared with that of traditional bulk ferric chloride treatment.
