For over a decade, real-time, high-frequency data on daily THM values have proved invaluable for shaping and optimizing THM mitigation strategies at the Shades Mountain Filter Plant (SMFP), operated by Central Alabama Water (CAW). CAW, a pioneer in adopting online THM monitoring, leveraged continuous insights into THM levels to consistently meet Stage 2 DBPR requirements, reduce THM formation up to 50% and lower annual analysis costs by more than $170,000 through decreased dependence on external laboratories.
